Nyeri establishing a farmers call center

The County Government of Nyeri is establishing a farmers call center at Wambugu Agricultural Training Center. A toll free line will be provided to farmers which will link them to technical personnel for Agricultural advice, consultancy services and linking them to the nearest service delivery specific to their needs.

The County has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BRITS Agribusiness Center to establish the call center. The County Government willl provide computer hardware, reliable internet services and  technical staff for the call center including experts in various agricultural fields.  BRITS on the other hand will avail the software system for support of the call center among others.

The CEC Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Mr. James Wachihi, signed the MoU on behalf of the County Government while BRITS Director Grace Muriithi signed on behalf of BRITS.  Also present were the Chief Officer Agriculture Ruth Mwangi, Anthony Korir the BRITS Director ICT and Gerald Kanyi- Monitoring and Evaluation officer Department of Agriculture.
