Nakuru looking for vegetables and herbs market

Nakuru County is in talks with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to seek market access for vegetable and herbs in Nakuru County. This was said by Deputy Governor Dr. Erick Korir.

“This morning I hosted a team from UNIDO where we discussed the demand for vegetables globally and the ability of Nakuru farmers to meet this demand. We are lucky to have favourable weather in Nakuru that allows a variety of products to grow. As a County, we will continue sensitizing our farmers on the benefits of having organized groups to increase their bargaining power,” said Korir.

The Deputy Governor added that last year Governor Lee Kinyanjui led the ground breaking of Lanet airport which once completed, farmers will be able to ferry their produce faster without going to JKIA in Nairobi.
