KPLC under fire after giraffes are electrocuted

Kenya Power & Lighting Company (KPLC) faced the wrath of Kenyans on social media after giraffes at Soysambu Conservancy in Nakuru County were electrocuted. The three giraffes were electrocuted by low lying power lines in the conservancy which has led to the death of 11 giraffes so far.

Kenya Wildlife Service in a statement said KPLC is assessing the situation and is expected to find a solution to prevent further death of animals in the conservancy. Toursim CS Najib Balala is also said to be engaging his Energy counterpart Charles Keter to find a long lasting solution.
