NARIGP project donates vehicles to Kenya

The National Agricultural and Rural Inclusive Growth Project (NARIGP) has donated 42 double cab vehicles to the 21 counties involved in the project.  Each of the 21 implementing counties will get two vehicles to support the activities of the project. The project is also providing the counties with motorcycles to cover all the 420 wards.

The vehicles were flagged of by Agriculture CS Peter Munya and the Chairman of Agriculture committee in the Council of Governors Muthomi Njuki who is also the Governor of Tharaka Nithi County.   The National Agricultural and Rural Inclusive project (NARIG-P) seeks to increase agricultural production and incomes for target rural livelihoods in select counties more so in an event of emergency or crisis

They also flagged off 10 vehicles provided by Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). The vehicles are mounted with ground sprayers and will help scale up the ongoing locust control operations. The vehicles command centre will be at Isiolo County.

“I would also like to appeal to our farmers to plant as we are on the onset of the planting season and assure them of the Ministry’s support. The Government is working round the clock to ensure food security,” says Munya.
