The government has introduced an E-voucher -to give subsidies to small scale farmers. According to Agriculture CS Peter Munya, farmers will be issued with smart cards with which they can access farm inputs at a subsidized price where they will pay only 70% of the selling price.
The E-voucher is already being piloted with maize farmers in Makueni.
