Baringo County to partner with German City for development

Baringo County Governor Benjamin Cheboi signed a cooperation agreement with the Mayor of Gersthofen City in Germany targeting various areas of mutual collaboration which include sustainable water management, Environment conservation, Skills development and climate change mitigation measures.

Other areas of partnership are; vocational training systems, supporting agribusiness, promoting local and international tourism, creating intergovernmental linkages and collaborations between Baringo County government and German government and Twining of Eldama Ravine and Marigat towns with German Cities especially City of Gersthofen.

The leaders who included Baringo Central MP, Hon. Joshua Kandie, Kapropita and EwalelChapchap Ward MCAs, Hon. Alex Kurui and Hon. Ayub Kibet respectively visited various facilities to evaluate the possibility of more collaboration with support from Mayor Michael Wörle.

They agreed to support Kirandich Dam pumping systems particularly supplementing the huge power costs through solarization, drilling and equipping with solar systems boreholes within the Municipality and exploring other initiatives that will see Kabarnet town be water sufficient.
