Kiambu County Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation through the National Agricultural and Rural Inclusive Growth Project ( NARIGP) is currently putting up water ponds as a control measure for gulley erosion. According to the department, the project involves among other things, constructing water ponds at Gituamba and Githobokoni wards in Gatundu North sub-county .The ponds are being constructed by youth from Kiambu who are hired as part of the youth empowerment program.
