Narok County Government will be vaccinating over half a million livestock after the CEC for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Joyce Keshe received 510,000 cattle and goat vaccine doses.
The vaccination will be carried out across the county against lumpy skin disease in cattle where 100,000 doses will be used, contagious caprine pleuro pneumonia in goats where 100,000 doses will be used, pestes de petites ruminants where 210,000 doses will be used, and sheep and goat pox where 100,000 doses will be used.
The vaccines were procured by the Narok County Government in partnership with the Food Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.
Speaking when she received the vaccines, Keshe urged farmers to bring their small stock to places where their Chiefs will direct them to.
