An Agribusiness Incubation Center is being constructed at Busia Agricultural Training Center (ATC). The project which is funded by World Bank through Kenya Devolution Support Program will ensure Busia ATC undergoes a massive transformation with decentralized agricultural activities aimed at boosting revenue through commercialization of all enterprises that will be started there according to Busia County government.
The County says the incubation center is going to play a big role in value addition, feed formulation for livestock, fish and poultry among others. It will also provide training, research and more farmer services and thus ensuring that the ATC becomes a more profitable institution where farmers are addressed as primary persons. The incubation center will also ensure that farmers are at per with the current agricultural and livestock activities and technologies through regular farmer visits to the various enterprises.
