It’s main objective is to provide approximately 1.4 million high needs farming households with access to a wide range of inputs through nationwide e-voucher subsidies. It is being piloted in several areas among them Konyu and Karima wards in Nyeri County. The County Government of Nyeri is in the process of recruiting enumerators to undertake farmer registration in preparation for the rolling out of the programme. According to the Agriculture Department in Nyeri, they intend to support a total of 3,312 smallholders to medium farmers in the County with inputs to undertake coffee production during the long rains cropping season in March/April this year.
