No elephant burnt in Loldaiga ranch fire

No elephants died in a fire that consumed a section of Loldaiga ranch in Laikipia County. In a statement, Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) said that a post fire assessment of the burnt area that they conducted revealed that no elephant carcasses were sighted in the affected area as reported by a section of the media. The fire that has now been contained consumed about 12,000 acres.

The fire is said to have been started by British soldiers who were training at the conservancy.
