Narok County’s Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries has raised concern over the increasing cases of loose smut in maize. The Department says that the loose smut disease has affected the production of maize across the County. Farmers have been urged to practice crop rotation to curb the spread of the disease and to also buy maize seeds only from accredited dealers.
