The Government has commissioned two specialized trucks to help in Artificial Insemination (AI) of goats. Speaking at the Kenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre (KAGRC) at AHITI Ndomba in Kirinyaga County, Agriculture CS Peter Munya announced that one truck will be situated in Sotik to serve both the Western and Rift Valley regions while the other one will serve Central and Eastern regions.
The CS also announced that he will ensure the completion of the dairy goats AI center to boost milk production & smallholder farmers’ income. Munya also announced that the center will start chicken multiplication as Kenya Agricultural & Livestock Research Organisation (KALRO) was overwhelmed and was not meeting the demand by poultry farmers.
