During the second quarter of 2019, Agriculture growth in Rwanda was 5% and contributed 1.5 percentage points to overall GDP growth. This is according to a report by National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda. Within agriculture, food crops production was 4% compared to 6% in the same quarter of 2018. Export crops increased by 6% mainly due to the increase of 21% in the production of Coffee. Tea production decreased by 3% while other cash crops (incl. flowers, pyrethrum & sugar cane) decreased by 4%.
