The County Government of Murang’a has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with East African Breweries Limited to buy Sorghum from Murang’a Farmers at Kshs.48 per Kilogramme.
The County Government and the brewer will provide the seeds to the farmers.
According to the county government, more than a thousand farmers are targeted to benefit.
The county will also assist farmers to start commercial growing of Boma Rhodes Grass in the lower parts of Murang’a. The grass farmers are expected to help their fellow farmers to increase their milk production by selling them hay made from the grass
