The CS Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Alice Wahome together with Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru who is also the Chair Council of Governors signed the Kenya National Water and Sanitation Investment and Financing Plan (NAWASIP).
The CS said NAWASIP plan is in line with the Water Act 2016 and aims at aggregating the water and sanitation investment and financing plans. It will be implemented by building small dams, boreholes, water service lines extension and sanitation facilities in rural areas.
On her part, Governor Ann Waiguru pointed out that water harvesting is critical in addressing the current impacts of climate change in the horn of Africa.
