Youth in Tanzania start harvesting in BBT program

Tanzanian Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Hussein Bashe has congratulated the youth who benefited from the Ministry’s Building a Better Tomorrow (BBT) program as they have started harvesting and selling their produce,

Speaking to some of the youth who visited his office on July 17, 2023, in Dodoma to thank him and also brought some of the produce, Hon. Bashe said he was very pleased with the results.  The youth are based at the Bihawana Centre in Dodoma.

Bashe encouraged the young people to expand the scope of distributing their harvest to various areas in Dodoma, including public offices in order to meet the demand by consumers.

One of the beneficiaries of the BBT program, Mrs. Asia Msuya thanked Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania for encouraging young people and women to participate in agriculture as a business. She said through the program she has gained a lot of knowledge and is now ready to be in agribusiness professionally and earn her own income.

Mr Mbaraka of BBT said they have started delivering their produce directly to consumers, avoiding the inconvenience of brokers hence increasing their profitability.
