Kenya and Master Card Foundation have agreed to work in moving farmers from rain-fed agriculture to irrigation and other modern practices that guarantee high production despite erratic environmental conditions.
The agreement was reached when Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua met representatives of The Master Card Foundation in Kenya, at his Harambee House Annex Office for discussions on possible areas of collaboration and partnership.
“I emphasized the transformative nature of irrigation targeting smallholder farmers as an immediate way of uplifting households,” said Rigathi
The Master Card team included Country Director Kenya, Mr David Bagenda, Programmes Communications Lead Kenya Ms Catherine Ndioo and Chief Public Affairs and Communications Officer Ms Julie Gichuru.
