Clients undergoing treatment at the Uasin Gishu County Rehabilitation and Treatment Centre in Moiben visited the Chebororwo Agricultural Training Centre (ATC) in an initiative aimed at equipping them with practical economic skills to support their reintegration into society.
The visit, organised by the Directorate of Alcoholic Drinks Control Board (ADCB), exposed the clients to a range of livelihood activities, including dairy farming, coffee farming and agricultural mechanisation.

During a tour of the facility, the clients were taken through demonstrations on the operation of various farm machines, including tractors and other mechanised equipment used in modern agriculture. They were also encouraged to consider acquiring portable equipment, such as welding machines, as potential income-generating tools upon completion of their rehabilitation programmes.

Speaking on behalf of ADCB Director Koiya Arap Maiyo, facility in-charge Carolyn Cheboi said the initiative forms part of the directorate’s broader strategy to equip recovering clients with practical skills to help them rebuild their lives through productive economic activities.

Cheboi added that, with the support of Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii, Chebororwo ATC has evolved into a key training hub for coffee and dairy farming, offering hands-on learning opportunities to farmers and community members across the county.
