The County Government of Uasin Gishu, Department of Agriculture, Livestock Development and Fisheries in conjunction with Micro Enterprises Support Programme Trust (MESPT) held a three-day sensitization workshop where Sub County staff and farmers from Moiben and Ainabkoi Sub-Counties were sensitized on value addition.
Agriculture CECM Samuel Yego while closing the workshop said that the sensitization will encourage farmers to be commercially oriented therefore providing a huge export market.
He adds that there is a need for small scale farmers to practise irrigation and embrace the value chains offered by MESPT such as export vegetables, Avocado, Aquaculture and Indigenous Chicken.
Yego thanked MESPT for choosing Uasin Gishu and assured them of the County’s support on other fields they will partner with.
