The County Government of Nakuru has commissioned Moto Water Project that is expected to benefit up to 500 homes and 3,500 people in Sirikwa Ward, Kuresoi North Sub County.
While handing over the solar-powered project to (NARWASCO), the County Minister for water Eng. Festus Ngeno said the County is striving to provide water to all. “The County Government is committed to ensure all residents access safe and affordable water at their doorstep during this time of the coronavirus pandemic,” he said
NARWASCO MD Reuben Korir said going forward, they will carry on assessment and extend the area of reach to bring closer water to consumers at a lower cost.
Samuel Gatinu a resident thanked the County Government’s intervention to revive it with solar-power saying it will do away with huge electricity costs and mismanagement that had stalled the project.
The project pumps 6000 litres per hour, has three water kiosks and will also benefit two public schools.
