Awasi modern market opens in Kisumu county

Awasi Modern Market in Kisumu County has finally been officially opened for business. The market has 88 stalls and 104 spaces, and traders in Awasi who have been risking their lives trading by the roadside can now trade safely.

The Kisumu County’s Department of Business, Cooperatives and Marketing moved in traders to the modern market in a bid to ensure that the small business traders operate in hygienic and dignified conditions to avert the possible spread of COVID-19. The function was officiated by the County Minister for Trade and Co-operatives Prof. Judith Miguda-Attyang’.

The market was funded by Kenha as part of the roadside amenities of the Mau Summit – Nyamasaria Road Project.
