The County Government of Nandi through the Department of Agriculture and Cooperatives Development inked an MoU with Digital Green, a tech-driven agricultural training platform utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) for enhanced extension advisory services to farmers.
The collaborative effort includes training of Extension Agents and Lead farmers to use Telegram Chat bot integrating KALRO accredited information, tailoring content based on farmer feedback through text or audio queries, providing advisory responses with links to helpful content.
So far, Digital Green has trained and onboarded over 400 farmers and lead farmers to use the platform and targets to reach over 5000 farmers in the county. The County government of Nandi says the MOU underscores the commitment of the County and Digital Green to jointly implement digital agricultural interventions, aiming to facilitate farmers’ access to targeted advisory services, ultimately enhancing productivity and income.
The signing ceremony was graced by Ms. Beryl Agengo, the Country Head of Digital Green and Dr. Jacqueline Wang’ombe the Project Manager and took place in the presence of the County Secretary Dr. Francis Sang, County Attorney, Directors and Farmers Representative.
