The County Government of Uasin Gishu has stepped up efforts to modernize its agricultural value chains by hosting a delegation from Jiexun Coffee Cloud Quality Sorting Solutions (AnySort), a global leader in intelligent sorting technologies.
The visit, held on Tuesday, brought together county officials and representatives from Anhui Jiexun Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd., a Chinese firm renowned for its innovative sorting systems. Deputy Governor H.E. Hon. Evans Kapkea, who received the delegation, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment under Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii to adopt advanced technologies that enhance productivity and quality in agriculture.
“This is a major step toward ensuring our farmers access tools that will help them compete globally,” Kapkea said, emphasizing the county’s focus on improving agricultural returns through modernization.

The introduction of Jiexun’s Coffee Cloud Quality Sorting Solution is expected to benefit local farmers by providing high-precision coffee processing. The system can ensure uniformity in bean size, colour, and damage detection, allowing farmers to fetch higher market prices. It is also anticipated to reduce manual labor and production costs, making coffee farming more efficient and profitable.
County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Agriculture Dr. Sam Kotut and Chief Officer Eng. Abraham Kiptalam hailed the potential impact of the technology on the regional agricultural economy. They underscored the need for partnerships that deliver practical solutions to boost value addition in the coffee sector.
Jiexun’s delegation, led by Ms. Haimi Zong and Mr. Daniel Wang, expressed interest in deploying their system in Uasin Gishu. Beyond digital grading and classification, the technology also provides traceability features crucial for meeting international export standards and improving the county’s global competitiveness in coffee.
