Season 2024/2025 continues to progress well. Sale 06 was successfully conducted on Tuesday, November 5th, 2024 at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange trading floor and through the online trading platform.
Key Highlights:Volumes Traded: 8,960 bags (557,099 kgs) sold at an average price of $251 per 50 kg bag.
Average Price: Equivalent to Ksh 100 per kilo of cherry at the trading floor.
Total Value: $2,804,050 (Kshs 365 million)
Highest Prices:Estate Coffee: $337 per bag for 3 bags (209 kgs) of grade AA from EVAS Estate (Code AG.0254) in Nyeri County
Factory Coffee: $317 per bag for 15 bags (922 kgs) from Kaliluni Factory (Code XBE 025F01) of Kaliluni FCS in Machakos County. Both lots were purchased by C-Dormans.
Confirmed Sales: 1,522 bags (17% of traded volume) confirmed by close of business.
Premium Pricing: 281 bags (3% of traded volume) achieved prices of $300.
Premium Grades: AA and AB grades totaled 5,292 bags (59% of traded volume)
Brokers: Twelve brokers participated, including Alliance Berries (Lead broker), New KPCU, Minnesota Marketers, Mt. Elgon Coffee Marketing Agency, KCCE Meru Union, Kipkelion, Kiambu Coffee, Kirinyaga Slopes, CEBBA, Meru County Coffee Marketing Agency Limited, United Eastern Kenya Coffee Marketing Co. Ltd.
Buyers:14 buyers participated. Sasini led in purchases while First Cup Coffee made the smallest purchase (15 bags from various growers).
The Nairobi Coffee Exchange will issue the Final Transaction Listing by the week’s end, lets also engage then to see if there will be any changes.
