Welcome to The HK Coffee Market Summary Provisional Transaction Reports of Sale 26 held on April 8th, 2025, at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange.

The coffee auction saw a total of 14,486 bags weighing 892,863 kgs sold, generating USD 5,298,232.68, equivalent to Kshs 683 million, with an average price of USD 296.70 per 50 kg. This is equivalent to Kshs 118 per Kg of Cherry.

The sale, as usual, featured three main grade categories: Main Coffee Grades (51.09% of total value), Miscellaneous Coffee (10.34%), and Unwashed Coffee (38.57%).

Grade AA commanded the highest average price at USD 377.69, followed by Grade AB at USD 365.79, while Grade T had the lowest minimum price at USD 154.00. The highest maximum price recorded was USD 426.00 for Grade AA.

Among the dealers, Ibero Kenya Ltd emerged as the dominant buyer, purchasing 4,170 bags (257,386 kg) valued at USD 1,476,212.04, representing nearly 28% of the total value. Louis Dreyfus Company ranked second with 2,511 bags (153,906 kg) worth USD 737,930.52, followed by C. Dorman Ltd with 1,289 bags (78,987 kg) worth USD 541,544.30. The unwashed coffee grade MH (Mbuni Heavy) registered the highest volume with 5,147 bags (312,443 kg) and accounted for 30.68% of the total sales value.

The Brokers’ performance report showed Kirinyaga Slopes Coffee Brokerage Company Ltd handling the largest volume with 5,027 bags (306,048 kgs), followed by New Kenya Planters Co-operative Union PLC with 3,224 bags (200,625 kgs). KCCE Marketing Agency Limited achieved the highest average price across their offerings at USD 321.85 per 50 kg, with some of their AA-grade coffee fetching up to USD 412.00 per 50 kg – the highest recorded price in the sale.
