Welcome to This Week’s Edition of the HK Coffee Market Summary: Sale 7 Final Report – Bungoma County
Last week, Sale 07 took place on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange trading floor, as well as through online trading platforms, and concluded successfully.
Bungoma County was among the participating counties, and below are the key highlights regarding its performance:
Key Highlights
• Volumes Traded: A total of 508 bags (31,442 kgs) were sold at an average price of $291 per 50-kg bag.
• Average Price: This translates to Ksh 114 per kilo of cherry at the trading floor.
• Total Value: The total value of the coffee traded was $183,583.90, equivalent to Ksh 24 million.
• Highest Price: The highest price paid was $360 per bag for 89 bags (5,388 kgs) of grade AA in two lots (42 and 47 bags). These were from the MENU Factory, Code XDA13F01, under MENU FCS. Both lots were purchased by C. Dormans.
• Brokers: Two brokers, led by Alliance Berries and KCCE Marketing, participated in the trade.
• Buyers: Coffee from Bungoma was purchased by seven buyers, with Ibero Kenya leading the pack.
