Sale 08 took place yesterday, November 25, 2025, at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange, where a total of 14,024 bags of coffee, equivalent to 892,141 kilograms, were traded.
The auction generated USD 6,917,111, approximately KES 892 million. The average price per 50kg bag was USD 388, translating to about KSh 154 per kilogram of cherry.
The top price achieved was USD 464 per bag for 37 bags of AA-grade coffee from the Kiganjo factory, part of Thiririka FCS in Kiambu County, marketed by Alliance Berries.
Notably, this was the same average price as in Sale 07 the previous week, meaning that although trading volume increased by 24%, the average price held steady.
Among brokers, Alliance Berries led the pack, selling 4,091 bags at an average price of USD 402, followed by New KPCU with 2,313 bags and Kipkelion with 1,864 bags. Other active brokers were Kirinyaga Slopes, Mt. Elgon, United Eastern, and Kinya Coffee, which also recorded solid sales and maintained competitive average prices.
On the buyer side, Ibero Kenya Ltd emerged as the leading purchaser, acquiring 4,235 bags worth over USD 2.2 million. C.Dormans SEZ Ltd and the Louis Dreyfus Company followed them. First Cup Coffee Ltd recorded the smallest volume, buying 10 bags of grade AB at an average price of USD 397.
