Sale 36 at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange was held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, where the market achieved a significant trading volume, with 10,850 bags totalling 679,022 kg of coffee sold for a combined value of USD 5,026,069 or Ksh 648 million.
The overall average price across all grades was $370.10 per 50kg bag (Ksh 147 per kg of cherry gross), with prices ranging from a minimum of $108.00 to a maximum of $434.00 per 50kg bag. Two lots achieved the high price of $432: one lot of 21 bags of AA from Kiganjo Factory, part of Thiririka FCS in Kiambu County, and another 3 bags of AA from Kanyiriri Factory, which is part of Rugi FCS in Nyeri County.

In the estates section, one lot from Ibonia Farm in Kiambu, 11 bags of AA fetched $430. A total of 771 bags, or 7% of the total volume traded, fetched over $400 each. It was a good day for coffee farmers.
The top five buyers by volume were Ibero Kenya Ltd (2,901 bags worth $1,313,385.34), C.Dormans SEZ Ltd (2,412 bags worth $1,162,581.86), Louis Dreyfus Company (1,491 bags worth $659,197.42), Kenyacof Limited (1,452 bags worth $673,786.20), and Taylor Winch (Coffee) Limited (1,162 bags worth $542,548.08). These five companies collectively accounted for approximately 84% of the total volume traded.
