At the Nairobi Coffee Exchange Sale 3, a total of 8,674 coffee bags were traded, translating to 541,341 kilograms. This generated a market value of USD 4,378,236.48, approximately KES 592 million. The average price per 50 kg bag was USD 404, equating to KES 160 per kilogram of cherry.
The highest price recorded was USD 511 for 18 bags of AA-grade coffee from Murarandia FCS in Murang’a County.
Market Overview
AA and AB grades led at the auction, making up more than 55% of the total volume. AA grade averaged USD 463.37 per bag, while AB fetched USD 431.12. Other notable grades included C at USD 398.89 and PB at USD 426.61, showing sustained demand for high-quality washed Arabica beans.

Broker Performance
Among the brokers, New KPCU PLC traded the highest volume with 2,200 bags (137,428 kg), valued at USD 1.09 million at an average price of USD 398. Alliance Berries Limited followed with 1,928 bags (120,357 kg) worth USD 971,046, averaging USD 403 per bag. KCCE Marketing Agency moved 913 bags at an average price of USD 409, while Kipkelion Broker Company handled 847 bags, realizing USD 445,977 at USD 426 per bag. Murang’a County Coffee Dealers Co. Ltd achieved an average of USD 410 for 302 bags.
Coffee Estates Bourgeoisie Brokers Ltd maintained an average of USD 376.
Buyer Performance
On the buyers’ side, Ibero Kenya Ltd led the pack with 3,138 bags (196,004 kg), worth USD 1.56 million. They were followed by Louis Dreyfus Company, purchasing 1,827 bags for USD 946,200; Taylor Winch with 1,288 bags for USD 680,173; C. Dormans SEZ Ltd buying 981 bags worth USD 556,976 and Global Mark Foods Ltd acquiring 349 bags for USD 94,533.
These five companies collectively accounted for nearly 90% of the total volume offered.
