Mara Elephant Project is looking for an experienced farm manager to join us as we launch an experimental farm in the Maasai Mara. MEP is launching an experimental farming project to help understand crop-raiding behavior of elephants.
MEP’s farm manager will be based on a farm near Kaboson Trading Center on the Transmara side of the Mara River.
Responsibilities include overseeing timely preparation of land for planting, advise management on sources for the best quality products, oversee planting timelines, crops and document all aspects of the process. The perfect candidate will be a Kenyan citizen with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, horticulture, agri-business or another related field with one year of experience or a diploma in a related field coupled with at least 3 years of experience in farm management. The ideal candidate will have a good command of both English & Kiswahili and be computer literate with the ability to use a variety of mobile apps in data collection and reporting.
This person will also be tasked with preparing management reports on all activities related to the farm project and advise on best farming practices, threats and opportunities. To apply, send your CV to email@example.com.
